About the role

In-game moderation staff are responsible for maintaining an enjoyable, fair, and friendly environment for those who play on our servers. Through active monitoring, and an in-game/discord presence, you will be responsible for responding to player submitted reports, enforcing the community's rules and expectations, and stepping in when a disrupting situation arises.

What you'll do

  • Monitor and respond to player reports and incidents whenever they occur.
  • Investigate violations of community rules via logs, player reports and other information.
  • Action approriate moderation decisions against those who are found to have violated community rules.
  • Respond to situations that involve harassment, cheating, griefing and other kinds of disruptive behaviour.
  • Help in the mediation/de-escalation of player disputes before they become disruptive to the community.
  • Escalate any serious or difficult incidents to higher staff when required.
  • Document moderation incidents and decisions for community record keeping.

What we're looking for

  • Comprehensive knowledge of our community rules and the expectations associated.
  • The ability to remain cool, calm, and collected when heated situations and disputes arise between players.
  • An ability to display appropriate judgement and an objective mindset.
  • A history of clear and respectful communication with other community members.
  • Regular levels of activity on our servers and a willingness to engage in moderation duties whenever required.
  • Prior experience in moderation or staffing is desirable, but not expected from every applicant, we're always here to teach.

About the role

We're on the lookout for a Senior Lua Developer to help in the designing, programming,and management of the systems behind our Garry's Mod server.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing and development of performance friendly and reliable game systems / mechanics.
  • Work closely with other members of the team.
  • Providing technical direction and guidance to junior developers.
  • Reviewing code and contributing to technical decisions.
  • Improving existing systems and processes.

What we're looking for

  • Advanced Lua programming experience.
  • Good understanding of Garry's Mod architecture.
  • Ability to follow given directives and work both independently and as a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in an information sensitive environment.

About the role

Internal Affairs is responsible for the creation, investigation, and enforcement of staff and community standards across our servers. You'll be responsible for the investigating of staff conduct, reviewal of submitted complaints, and helping ensure that staff operate in accordance with written policy and community expectations. You may also be placed in a judging position for high-profile or debated internal decisions.

What you'll do

  • Investigate complaints and allegations involving community staff.
  • Review incidents, using available logs and other evidence to establish a given situation.
  • Identify and investigate breaches of internal policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and communicate clear and impartial reports to senior management.
  • Provide recommendations on appropriate action for when misconduct or policy violations are identified.
  • Review recurring problems and recommend improvements to our policies and procedures.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive internal matters.

What we're looking for

  • Strong ability to judge and remain impartial during investigations and disputes.
  • Advanced written communication skills and a high attention to detail.
  • The ability to be objective rather than relying on assumptions or personal relations.
  • Reliability and utmost discretion when handling potentially confidential info.
  • Strong prior experience in moderation, administration, or community management is preferred.
  • Ability to hold staff accountable regardless of community rank or position.
